Fabric Software will aunch Fabric Engine 2 at SIGGRAPH next week.
The second generation of the development platform features the Canvas visual programming system that was previewed earlier this year, as well as integration with Pixar’s RenderMan and The Foundry’s Modo.
The company said Fabric Engine 2 makes it even easier for studios of all sizes to build high performance tools and applications for VFX, games, VR and visualisation.
Fabric Software said it had more than 400 users on the beta program and expects to release Fabric Engine 2 in September.
Major studios such as Double Negative, MPC, Hybride and Psyop are now using Fabric Engine in production and will demonstrate how Fabric fits into their pipeline at Siggraph.
