One of Malika Favre's wallpaper designs for 21Wallpaper

Sick of your boring desktop wallpaper? Maybe you still have the default choice so it's probably time to add a bit of artistic flavour? These vibrant digital wallpaper designs from leading illustrators may be your answer – and thankfully, they're free.

21Wallpaper is a collaborative effort launched in February, in which every three months a collection of seven illustrators and designers publish three of their works for your screen wallpaper. The first ‘batch’ of illustrators was released this month, involving Marylou Faure, Ryan Putnam, Kati Szilagyi, Roberts Rurans, Leo Natsume, Atelier Bebop, Sergi Delgado with special guest Malika Favre. Simply visit 21Wallpaper design to download one of three designs from each artist – or all if you’re very enthused – for your desktop or smartphone. You can preview each illustration to see if it's right for you.

Each artist brings their unique style, whether it be Sergi or Ryan’s pattern design, Atelier’s rough shapes, Leo’s slick vector illustrations, Robert’s whimsical characters (seen below) or Marylou’s bold colours and diverse female forms.

If you’re an illustrator keen to be a part of the next 'batch', you can apply now to be featured for June 2018.

The illustrations have been curated by artists from Riga, Latvia – digital and branding Studio Frisch, artist Helena Spridzane aka Hele and digital product designers Karina Karsecjana and Konstantins Sedunovs.

We showcase one wallpaper design from each artist below. For more, click on the artist name.
