This is a very literal take on food trucks

Paul Trakies has created these delightful images, rendering vehicles including lorries and a tank as luscious plated dishes.

London is awash with food trucks, but none of them are like these new creations from German 3D artist Paul Trakies. Paul has formed his Food Wheels vehicles of mouthwatering foods including honey, cheese and fruit-filled yoghurt.

Much of the images' appeal comes from the photorealistic shine of the various sticky liquids and solids. Paul says that the project originated as a way for him to experiment in Cinema 4D with shaders using sub-surface scattering for use with the Octane Render rendering system. The different materials allowed him to test out levels of shine and translucency – and the results are rather lovely.

The original models were created as simple geometry in Cinema 4D, which were sculpted into more organic forms in ZBrush. After rendering in Octane, a final touch-up was performed in Photoshop.

The plastic spoon forming the barrel of this tank's gun is an especially nice touch.
