Science made easy to understand by 12foot6's animated film for Royal Institution

Know what X-ray crystallography is? Me neither til I watched the brilliant animation above.

The film was created by 12foot6 for the Royal Institution – the long-established science organisation best known for its yearly series of Christmas lectures that are ostensibly aimed at children but lapped up by most adults I know (including myself).

I'm not going to try to explain what X-ray crystallography is – the film above does that much better than I ever could – but it's worth mentioning that it was discovered 100 years ago by William and Lawrence Bragg and is being used today for soil analysis on Mars by the Curiousity Rover.
