Jakub is an apparel graphic designer from Manchester, UK. His work has appeared on the cover of Digital Arts Autumn 2012.
What techniques do you use most?
These days, I mainly use a tablet and laptop. I used to sketch everything on paper, but I found I had to redraw it in Illustrator. I just couldn’t stand repeating the whole process all over again. I like to experiment.
What’s your favourite piece you’ve created?
That’s a hard one. I think at the moment, it’s my Jon K poster (above left). It’s also almost perfect in the way that adding or deleting any element of it, would destroy the whole balance.
What kinds of materials do you work with?
I use old photos, self-made brushes and vectors. If I have a lot of spare time, I like to use pencils and ink.
Which clients have you worked for?
My clients have included Bench and Umbro here in UK, and Diverse back in Poland.
What inspires you?
Pop culture and music.
Jakub created this illustration for a poster for a club night headlined by DJ Jon K.
It’s An Atom. It’s Not A Blackberry. This T-shirt print was designed for Bench.
