There's something delicate about Jonathan's collages of hand-drawn elements.
What techniques do you use most?
Digital collage. I still prefer to create things on paper, but being able to take ‘parts’ of an image onto a computer and collate these into my vision is helpful. With applications such as Photoshop, it’s important to have a clear idea of what you’re setting out to create so you don’t get bogged down in the plethora of options available to you.
What kinds of materials do you work with?
A range of different papers, pencils, inks, acrylics and watercolour. I like to be able to get fine crisp lines, but also if I want, to be able to bleed into an image with very watery mediums. I like getting the paper very wet when using ink and watercolours.
