This pattern designer dreams of one day working with Grayson Perry, Jean Paul Gaultier or Chloë Sevigny.
What’s your favourite tool?
A pen is my basic tool of designing. While drawing with a pen, I feel very free. The pattern is floating out from my head through my pen. It’s a very enjoyable process of creating designs.
What kinds of materials do you work with?
The type of materials I use depend on the fabric my work will be printed on. That’s mainly silk.
Who are your dream clients?
Grayson Perry, Anna Wintour, Jean Paul Gaultier or Chloë Sevigny.
What’s your dream job?
Hermès, Viktor & Rolf, Paul Smith or Marni.
The End of the Age of Turtles is a print on silk. The design suggests how the world will end if we continue to pollute the environment.
The Arc is another print on silk. It illustrates the idea that if the problems of over-industrialization and pollution are not stopped or reduced, even the biblical arc wouldn’t be good enough to protect humans and other creatures.
